Playing music is an excellent therapeutic exercise. It is also a gentle way of helping mobility in the fingers and hand…. and also your limbs if you want to get up and dance.

Sining along with the songs (which we encourage) produces endorphins in the brain and makes you feel happy and energised. The NHS have even started encouraging people to sing to help with lung function.

Leonard Metcalfe joined the band after his wife died. He says it has made him feel like a young man again.
